Sawan Somvar Days in 2019
All Tuesdays or Mangalwar in the month of Shravan are dedicated to Goddess Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva. Fasting on Tuesdays of Shravan month is known as Mangal Gauri Vrat. Some other auspicious days in the month of Savan are Sawan Shivaratri, Hariyali Teej, Raksha Bandhan and Nag Panchami.

There is fifteen days difference in Purnimant calendar, followed by North Indian states, Shravan month starts fifteen days before Amavasyant calendar.
Shravan or Savan month's name is derived from the Nakshatra (constellation) Shravan. This constellation Shravan appears every year in this month of Savan.

- Savan Somvar: Mondays fast in the month of Savan
- Solah Somvar: Solah (sixteen) Somvars(Mondays) fasting
- Somya Pradosh: Monday Fast observed till the evening during Pradosham or Pradosh Vrat.
