What is Vishu Kani?

The word “Kani” means “that which is seen first.” Vishu Kani refers to the practice of viewing an arrangement of auspicious items at dawn on Vishu day. This arrangement is carefully prepared the night before and is revealed to family members early in the morning.

The idea is simple yet powerful—starting the year by seeing symbols of prosperity, abundance, and positivity.
