Hanuman Jayanthi 2023
In Tamil Nadu Hanumath Jayanthi is observed during Margashirsha Amavasya in Margazhi Month. Margashirsha Amavasya or Margazhi Amavasai as per Tamil calendar coincides with Moolam Nakshatram many a time.
Hanuman Jayanthi is celebrated for 41-days starting as deeksha on Chaitra Purnima and ends on the tenth day during Krishna Paksha in Vaishakha month(April – May) in Andhra Pradesh.
In Tamil Nadu, Hanumath Jayanthi is celebrated in all the Anjaneyar temples in the state. Special poojas are organised and often free laddus are prepared in the temple and distributed to devotees. Special Vadamala programme is held in Pallipalayam Tajnagar ‘Trinetra Dasabuja Anjaneyar’ temple where hundreds of devotees came and worshipped Anjaneyar. Same was the case of Dharapuram's ‘Kadu Anjaneyar’ temple, where grand celebration takes place.
