Tara Jayanti 2024 Date
Tara Jayanti, also known as Mahatara Jayanti, is a sacred occasion dedicated to Goddess Tara, one of the ten Mahavidyas in Hindu tradition. According to the Hindu calendar, this auspicious day is observed on Chaitra Shukla Navami. Devotees worship Goddess Tara as the one who liberates souls from worldly attachments and grants wisdom, protection, and spiritual strength.
Though not as widely celebrated as some other festivals, Tara Jayanti holds deep importance among tantric practitioners and devotees of Shakti. The energy of this day is believed to be powerful for spiritual growth and inner transformation.
The literal meaning of “Tara” is “the one who helps cross over”—symbolizing liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Because of this, she is often worshipped as a goddess who grants moksha (salvation).
