The Chaturthi tithi of Krishna Paksha that falls every month is called Sankashti Chaturthi and the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha is called Vinayaka Chaturthi as per Hindu calendar. Krishna Paksha Chaturthi tithi of Jyeshtha month is called Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi. Devotees worship Sri Ganesha for happiness, peace and prosperity on this day. Lord Ganesha is regarded as Vighnharta and it's said that worshiping Vighnaharta removes all the sufferings of the devotees. Before starting anything new work or business, Ganesh ji must be worshipped as the first god. Worshiping Lord Ganesha and keeping fast on this day brings wisdom and opulence.
