Paush Ekadashi also known as Pausha Putrada Ekadashi and Putrada Ekadashi, is one of the important fast that is observed by devotee Hindus. Putrada Ekadashi Meaning

Putrada in Sanskrit means “giver of son” means the couple or men/women who fast on this auspicious day of Lord Vishnu are blessed with a child or son. Childless couples fast on this special day so that they are blessed with a son and become proud parents or get the santaan sukh. The Putrada Ekadashi that comes in the month of January usually comes in the month of Pausha and thus called Pausha Putrada Ekadashi. There is also a Putrada Ekadashi that comes in the month of Shravana during July/August and thus known as Shravana Putrada Ekadashi. Both of these ekadashi's come in the Shukla paksh of Hindu calendar.

On 1st January, 2026, the Parana time (time of breaking ekadashi fast on dwadashi tithi) for Gauna Ekadashi is from 07:14 AM to 09:18 AM.
