According to tradition, the Trimurti, or Lords Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, were debating who was the superior of them all. During the heated dispute, Shiva was upset by Brahma's words and ordered Bhairava to cut one of Brahma's five heads. Bhairava carried out Shiva's directions. As a result, Brahma became four-headed. Bhairava's sin of Brahmhatya was atoned for when he arrived in the holy city of Varanasi after traveling the world. In Varanasi, there are several temples devoted to Lord Bhairava. He remained and became the city's protector Deity. He is also referred to as 'Kotwal of Kashi'.
Worshiping Lord Shiva in the form of Kala Bhairava can remove all calamity. The devotee achieves all-around success and is absolved of his sins. Flowers, fruits, and sweets are used to honor Lord Bhairava, Shiva, and his spouse Parvati. Dogs (Lord Bhairava's conveyance) are also offered milk and food. On this day, ancestors who have died are commemorated and oblations are presented.
Kaal Bhairava Ashtami
'Ashta' means 'eight', while 'Ashtami' means 'eighth'. As a result, Ashtami, the eighth day after the Full Moon, is a very auspicious day to worship Lord Kaal Bhairava. There are twelve Kalashtamis in a year. The one that falls on a Sunday or Tuesday is ideal for worshiping Lord Kal Bhairav.
In the morning, the Shaivites take a ceremonial bath and perform Puja. Devotees fast all day and do Jagaran at night. Devotees chant the Kaalbhairav Katha. At midnight, they also perform Bhairva Aarti using traditional musical instruments. Every year, a large function is held at the Bhairav Prasad Temple in Vaishno Devi. Many cultural programs and prayers are held in Varanasi.

Utpanna Ekadashi 2024 Date
Utpanna Ekadashi 2024 Date
Utpanna Ekadashi is the Krishna Paksha Ekadashi that follows Kartik Purnima. After Devutthana Ekadashi, it is the following Ekadashi.
Utpanna Ekadashi is a notable Ekadashi since it is linked with the beginning of Ekadashi fasting. All Ekadashi fasting is devoted to Goddess Ekadashi, one of Lord Vishnu's Shaktis. Ekadashi was created by Lord Vishnu to destroy Demon Mur, who planned to slay the sleeping Lord Vishnu. As a result, Goddess Ekadashi is one of Lord Vishnu's protection powers. Goddess Vaishnavi is another Lord Vishnu power and a component of Sapta Matrika.
Hence Ekadashi's birth anniversary is celebrated on Utpanna Ekadashi. Devotees who commit to fast yearly begin Ekadashi fasting on Utpanna Ekadashi.
Breaking the fast is referred to as parna. Ekadashi Parana is performed after daybreak on the next day of the Ekadashi fast. Unless Dwadashi ends before daylight, Parana must be performed inside Dwadashi Tithi. Not doing parana inside Dwadashi is considered an offense.
Hari Vasara is not the time for parana. Before breaking the fast, one should wait for Hari Vasara to finish. Hari Vasara is the first one-fourth of Dwadashi Tithi. Pratahkal is the most popular time to break the fast. During Madhyahna, one should avoid breaking the fast. If for whatever reason it is not possible to break the fast during Pratahkal, it should be done after Madhyahna.
Ekadashi fasting on two consecutive days is sometimes advised. Smartha and his family are urged to fast just on the first day. The second alternative Ekadashi fasting is recommended for Sanyasis, widows, and those seeking Moksha. Smartha's alternate Ekadashi fasting day coincides with Vaishnava's Ekadashi fasting day.
Fasting on both days of Ekadashi is recommended for ardent devotees seeking Lord Vishnu's favor and adoration.

Ganadhipa Sankashti Chaturthi 2024 Date
Ganadhipa Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 Date
Sri Ganesha is honored on Chaturthi Tithi (the fourth day of the fortnight). Sri Ganesha is Pratham Pujya, which means the first to receive people's prayers. As a result, all auspicious occasions begin with initial offerings and prayers to him. He is also known as Vighnaharta (obstacle remover). As a result, followers seek his blessings and desire for a peaceful existence.
The Vinayaka Chaturthi Vrat and the Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat are the two types of fast's devoted to Sri Ganesha. Vinayaka Chaturthi is held during Chaturthi Shukla Paksha (the waxing phase of the Moon), whilst the latter is observed during Krishna Paksha (the waning phase of the Moon). The Sankashti Vrat is the most well-known of them. Sankashti means deliverance, and it alludes to freedom from difficulties in this context.
Each Sankashti Chaturthi day has its own name and spiritual significance. Ganadhipa Sankashti Chaturthi, for example, is the Sankashti of the Kartik month (according to the Amavasyant calendar) or the Margashirsha month (according to the Purnimant calendar). On this day, which normally falls in November, devotees worship the Maha Ganapati form of Lord Ganesha and the Shiva Peetha.

Moonrise on Sankashti Day - November 18, 2024 - 19:34 PM
Importance of Ganadhipa Sankashti Chaturthi - Why do devotees observe this vrat?
Chaturthi has its unique significance in Hinduism since it is dedicated to Lord Ganesha devotion. Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is also known as Pratham Pujya. He is the most revered of all gods. Lord Ganpati and Goddess Laxmi are always honored before any pooja, yajna, hawan, or other religious practice. Devotees revere Shiva Peetha and Lord Ganpati's Maha Ganapati avatar on the auspicious day of Sankashti Chaturthi.
Fasting on this day every month is thought to bring good fortune, happiness, and prosperity to followers, as well as Lord Ganesha's protection from all obstacles in life. Lord Ganesha is believed to remove impediments from the lives of his followers as the one who removes troubles from life. No auspicious act is accomplished until Ganpati Ji is worshiped; this includes arranging weddings and engagements as well as performing puja rites.
This practice is related with various stories. Krishna Chaturthi, who having undertaken great penance, pleased Sri Ganesha. So, at the moment of Chandrodaya (Moonrise), the Lord appeared before Krishna Chaturthi to grant her request.
Krishna Chaturthi desired a blessing that would offer her eternal relationship with Sri Ganesha. She also asked for a blessing to assist followers get rid of all their problems by fasting on Krishna Chaturthi. Thus, God Ganesha granted all of her desires, and the custom of fasting on the Chaturthi Tithi started.
Ganadhipa Sankashti Chaturthi Rituals
Devotees are instructed to get up early, take a holy bath, and dress cleanly. Install a Lord Ganesha statue and execute a panchamrit (milk, curd, sugar, honey, and ghee) purifying ceremony. Light a light, apply kumkum on the forehead, and serve Lord Ganesha sweets (laddoos and modaks) and yellow vermilion. Don't forget to include durva grass, the Lord's favorite herb, with your offering. To show respect for the god, recite the Bindayak Katha (Lord Ganesh Katha) and perform an aarti ritual. Kartik Month Story Chapter 35
Kartik Month Story Chapter 35, Kartik Month Story Chapter 35 in English
After hearing such a story, all the sages said to Sutji – Hey Sutji! Now tell us the method of Tulsi marriage. Sutji said- Dwapar era started on Kartik Shukla Navami. Therefore, if this date is Purvahanvyapini and Parahnavyapini respectively during charity and fasting then it is acceptable. On this date, from Navami to Ekadashi, if a person celebrates the marriage of Tulsi according to the scriptures, then he gets the result of Kanyadaan. In ancient times, Kanak's daughter Kishori performed the marriage ceremony of Tulsi in the evening on Ekadashi date. With this, the teenage girl became free from the sin of widowhood.
Now I will tell you the method - get a beautiful idol of Lord Vishnu made of one tola gold or according to your capacity get the idol made of half or quarter tola, then consecrate the idol of Tulsi and Lord Vishnu and worship it with Shodshopachara. . First worship Ganesha by remembering the time and place, then perform Nandi Shraddha after chanting the sacred thread. After that, bring the idol of Lord Vishnu near Tulsi ji along with the recitation of Veda-mantras and the sound of musical instruments etc. The idol should be covered with clothes. Invoke God at that time:-
Lord Keshav! Come, Dev! I will worship you. I will dedicate Tulsi to your service. You fulfill all my wishes.
In this way, after the invocation, by reciting Ardhya, Padya and Vishtar three times each, dedicate them to God one by one, then by reciting Achamaniya Pada thrice, make God Achaman. After this, put curd, ghee and honey in a bronze vessel and cover it with the bronze vessel itself and while offering it to God, say - Vasudev! Greetings to you, take this Madhupark (the mixture of curd, ghee and honey is called Madhupark).
After that, after completing the Haridraal and Abhyang rituals, Tulsi and Vishnu should be worshiped separately during the twilight hours. Keep both of them facing each other and recite Mangal. When Lord Surya is partially visible then take a resolution for Kanyadaan. By pronouncing your Gotra and Pravara, also go through the initial three generations. After that say to God like this:-
“The Tribhuvan-protector God without beginning, middle and end! You should accept this Tulsi Dal as part of your marriage ceremony. It has appeared from the seed of Parvati, resides in the ashes of Vrinda and is void of beginning, middle and end, Tulsi is very dear to you, hence I offer it to you. I have brought her up, nurtured and raised her like my daughter by watering her with water pitchers and doing other types of services, I am giving her to you, your beloved Tulsi. Lord! You accept it.”
In this way, after donating Tulsi, worship both of them i.e. Tulsi and Lord Vishnu and celebrate the marriage. In the morning, worship Tulsi and Lord Vishnu again. After setting up the fire, offer one hundred and eight oblations of kheer, ghee, honey and sesame mixed with the Dwadsakshar mantra and then perform 'Svishtkrit' homak and offer the full offering. Complete the remaining rituals of Homa by worshiping the Acharya. After that pray to God like this – Oh Lord! I have observed this fast for your happiness. Janardan, whatever is lacking in it, may it be fulfilled by your Prasad.
If the fourth phase of Revati is passing in Dwadashi, then do not do Parana at that time. One who observes Parana even at that time renders his fast ineffective. By eating the self-melting and fallen leaves of Tulsi after meals, a person becomes free from all sins. Eating sugarcane, gooseberry and plum fruits at the end of the meal removes Uchchhishta Dosha.
Thereafter, while immersing the Lord, he said – 'Lord! You reach Vaikunthdham with Tulsi. Lord! You should always be satisfied by accepting the worship done by me.' In this way, after immersing Deveshwar Vishnu, offer all the material like idol etc. to Acharya. Due to this man becomes grateful.
After narrating this method, Sutji said to the sages – O sages! In this way, the person who devoutly embraces truth, peace and contentment and dedicates a Tulsi plant to Lord Vishnu, all his sins are destroyed and after enjoying the pleasures of the world, he finally attains Vishnuloka.
O sages! This Kartik greatness is the destroyer of all diseases and all sins. The person who reads this greatness with devotion and who adopts it after listening, becomes free from all sins and goes to the world of Lord Vishnu. This greatness should not be narrated to any person whose intellect is flawed and who is devoid of faith.

Kartik Month Story Chapter 30
Kartik Month Story Chapter 30, Kartik Month Story Chapter 30 in English
Lord Shri Krishna said to Satyabhama – Oh dear! Maharaja Prithu was very surprised to hear these words of Naradji. At last he worshiped Naradji and bid him farewell. That is why I love these three fasts – Magh, Kartik and Ekadashi. I love Tulsi among plants, Kartik among months, Ekadashi among dates and Prayag among regions. The man who conquers the senses and consumes them is more dear to me than the man who performs Yagya. Those people who serve them properly, by my grace they get rid of all their sins.
After hearing the words of Lord Krishna, Satyabhama said – O Lord! You have said a very wonderful thing that by doing good deeds for others, one is freed from discord. This influential Kartik month is more dear to you due to which the sin of adultery is destroyed only by the virtue of bathing. Please tell me how the good deeds done by another person can be received by his giving.
Lord Krishna said- Dear! Listen carefully to the actions by which unearned virtue and sin are obtained.
In Satyayuga, the country, villages and clans got the reward for the good deeds or sins, but in Kaliyuga, only the doer has to suffer the consequences of the sins and good deeds. That arrangement has been made even if there is no communication, and through communication, sins and virtues are passed on to others, listen to that arrangement also.
By teaching, performing yagya and eating together, one gets half the reward of good and bad deeds. By sitting on a seat and riding a vehicle, by the coming and going of the breath, a living being receives a fourth part of the virtues and sins. One-sixth of the virtues and sins are obtained by touching, eating and praising others. By criticizing, gossiping and criticizing others, one gets the seventh part of it. Whoever serves people who do good deeds takes part in the service and gives his good deeds to them.
Apart from the servant and the disciple, the person who does not pay money after getting service done by another person, that servant is also a partaker of his good deeds. The person who crosses the plates of those eating food sitting in a row, gives one-sixth of his virtue to the person (whose plate he has crossed). The person who talks to or touches a person while taking bath or meditating etc., gives away one-sixth of his virtue.
The person who asks for money from others for religious work is a partaker of virtue. In the same way, the person who donates is the recipient of virtue. The person who preaches religion and then appeals to the listener, gives one-sixth of his virtue to him. The person who steals other people's money and practices religion with it, suffers the consequences of theft and soon becomes poor and the person whose money he steals becomes a partaker of virtue.
A person who dies without repaying his debt, the good man who gives him the debt is blessed with good deeds. The one who teaches, gives advice, gathers material and inspires, receives the sixth part of sin and virtue. The king gets one-sixth of the sins and virtues of his subjects, the teacher gets one-sixth of the virtues of the disciples, the husband of the wife, the father of the son, the woman gets one-sixth of the good deeds of her husband. An obedient woman who pleases her husband takes half of the virtue for her husband.
Those virtuous souls who donate to strangers receive one-sixth of their virtue. The person who gives sustenance receives one-sixth of the virtue of the person who takes sustenance. In this way, good deeds or sins can be received by others without giving it to others, but these rules which I have explained do not apply in Kaliyuga. In Kaliyuga, only the doer has to suffer for his sins and virtues. There is a very old history in this regard which is also sacred and is said to give wisdom, listen to it carefully –
This history will be told in the 31st chapter.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 34
Kartik Month Story Chapter 34, Kartik Month Story Chapter 34 in English
The sages asked- O Sutji! Why is the Peepal tree not worshiped on other days of the week except Saturday?
Sutji said- O sages! Out of the gems that the gods obtained by churning the ocean, the gods dedicated Lakshmi and Kaustubhamani to Lord Vishnu. When Lord Vishnu was ready to marry Lakshmi ji, Lakshmi ji said – O Lord! How can I, the younger sister, marry you until my elder sister gets married, so first get my elder sister married and then marry me. This is the rule that has been in practice since ancient times.
Sutji said - After hearing such words from Lakshmi ji, Lord Vishnu got Lakshmi ji's elder sister married with Uddalak Rishi. Lakshmi ji's elder sister Alakshmi ji was very ugly, her face was big, her teeth were shining, her body was like that of an old woman, her eyes were big and her hair was dry. On the request of Lord Vishnu, sage Uddalak married her and brought her to his ashram, resonating with the sound of Veda mantras. Alakshmi felt very sad to see the beautiful ashram of that sage, fragrant with the sacred smoke of the havan resonating with the sound of the Vedas. She said to Maharishi Uddalak – Since the sound of Vedas is resonating in this ashram, this place is not fit for me to live, hence please take me somewhere else from here.
Hearing her, Maharishi Uddalak said - Tell me why you can't live here and what other place is suitable for you to live. Alakshmi said - I cannot live in a place where Vedas are recited, guests are welcomed, Yagya etc. are performed. I cannot live in a place where husband and wife live with each other in love, where yagyas are performed for the ancestors and gods are worshipped. A place where the Vedas are not recited, guests are not honored, yagyas are not performed, husbands and wives quarrel among themselves, respected elders, good men and friends are disrespected, where miscreants, thieves and adulterers live. I reside happily in places where cows are slaughtered, where sins like drinking alcohol, brahma murder etc. are committed.
Sutji said - Uddalak felt sad after hearing such words from Alakshmi's mouth. He became silent after hearing this. After some time he said, okay, I will find such a place for you. Until I find such a place for you, you sit quietly under this peepal tree. Maharishi Uddalak made him sit under a Peepal tree and set out in search of a suitable place for her to live, but when he did not return even after waiting for a long time, Alakshmi started mourning. When Goddess Lakshmi, sitting in Vaikuntha, heard the lamentation of her sister Alakshmi, she became distraught. She became sad and said to Lord Vishnu – Oh Lord! My elder sister is extremely sad at being abandoned by her husband. If I am your beloved wife, then you go to her to reassure her. On the prayer of Lakshmi ji, Lord Vishnu along with Lakshmi ji went to the Peepal tree where Alakshmi was sitting and mourning.
While giving her assurance, Lord Vishnu said – O Alakshmi! You reside forever in the roots of this Peepal tree because it originated from my part and I always reside in it. Every year the householders will worship you and your younger sister will reside in their house. Women should worship you with various gifts. People should worship you with flowers, incense, lamps, fragrance etc. only then your younger sister Lakshmi will be pleased with them.
Sutji said- Rishis! I have narrated to you the dialogue of Lord Shri Krishna, Satyabhama and Prithu-Narad, by listening to which all the sins of a person are destroyed and ultimately one attains Vaikuntha. If you people still want to ask something then please ask, I will definitely tell it.
Hearing Sutji's words, Shaunak and other sages sat there happy for some time, after which they left for the darshan of Badrinarayan ji. The person who listens or narrates this story gets all the happiness in this world.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 33
Kartik Month Story Chapter 33, Kartik Month Story Chapter 33 in English
Sutji said- Thus, after narrating this story to his very beloved Satyabhama, Lord Shri Krishna went to his mother's house for evening worship. This fast of Kartik month is very dear to Lord Vishnu and gives devotion. 1) Night vigil, 2) Morning bath, 3) Tulsi tree watering, 4) Udyapan and 5) Donating lamps - These five actions are going to please Lord Vishnu, hence they must be followed.
The sage said - You told us the greatness of Kartik, who is dear to Lord Vishnu, who gives more fruits, who pleases every part of the body. People who wish for salvation or desire enjoyment must observe this fast. Apart from this, we want to ask you one thing that if a person observing the fast of Kartik month gets trapped in some trouble or is in a forest or the person fasting suffers from some disease, then how should that person observe the Kartik fast? Because Kartik fast is very dear to Lord Vishnu and by observing it one attains salvation and devotion, hence it should not be skipped.
Answering this, Shri Sutji said - If a person observing Kartik fast gets into any trouble, then he should gather courage and pray to Lord Shankar.
Go to the temple of R or Lord Vishnu, whichever is nearby, and keep vigil at night. If the devotee gets stuck in a dense forest, then he should go under the Peepal tree or in the Tulsi forest and perform Jagran. Sit in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu and chant the Kirtan of Lord Vishnu. By doing this one gets results equivalent to donating thousands of cows. The person who plays the instrument in the kirtan of Vishnuji gets the same result as the Vajpayee Yagya and the person who dances in Hari Kirtan gets the result of taking bath in all the pilgrimages. In case of any crisis or if you become sick and are unable to get water, wash yourself only in the name of Lord Vishnu.
If one cannot perform Udyapan, then Lord Vishnu remains happy only because the Brahmins are happy to fulfill the fast. If a person is unable to donate a lamp, then he should protect someone else's lamp properly from wind etc. If the Tulsi plant is not nearby then worship only a Vaishnav Brahmin because Lord Vishnu always remains close to his devotees. In the absence of all these, a person observing Kartik fast should serve Brahmins, cows, Peepal trees and Vatavraksha with devotion.
Sage Shaunaka etc. said - You have described Peepal and Banyan trees as equal to cows and brahmins and among all the trees Peepal and Banyan trees have been called the best, tell the reason for this.
Sutji said- Peepal is the form of Lord Vishnu and Vat is the form of Lord Shankar. Palash originated from the part of Lord Brahma. One who eats food from its leaf in the month of Kartik goes to the world of Lord Vishnu. All the sins of those who worship, serve and visit these trees are destroyed.
The sages asked- Oh Lord! We have a doubt in our minds that why did Brahma, Vishnu and Shankar become trees? Please clear our doubt.
Sutji said- In ancient times, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati were travelling. At that time, with the aim of creating disturbance in his monastery, Agnidev reached there in the form of a Brahmin. Being enraged by the joy of Vihar, Mother Parvati cursed all the gods.
Mother Parvati said- O Gods! Even insects and moths are not ignorant of sensual pleasures. Despite being gods, you people have created obstacles in it, so all of you become trees.
Sutji said - In this way, due to the curse of angry Parvati ji, all the gods became trees. This is the reason why Lord Vishnu became Peepal and Lord Shiva became Banyan tree. Therefore, due to the association of Lord Vishnu with Shanidev, Peepal should be touched only on Saturday and not on any other day.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 32
Kartik Month Story Chapter 32, Kartik Month Story Chapter 32 in English
Lord Shri Krishna further said- Oh dear! Obeying Yamraj's orders, Pretapati took Dhaneshwar near the hells and showing him to him started saying - O Dhaneshwar! Look at these hells that give great fear. In these, sinful men are always cooked by the messengers. Look, this is a hell called Taptavachuk in which sinners are lamenting due to burning of their bodies. The person who does not give food to the hungry at meal time is thrown into this hell again and again. The creature who kicks the Guru, Agni, Brahmin, cow, Veda and the king goes to the terrible hell for committing grave sins.
Look ahead, this is the second hell whose name is Andhatamisra. These sinners are being bitten by needle-like insects called Tamoth. Sinners who hurt others are thrown into this hell.
This is the third hell named Krakeya. In this hell the sinners are cut with a saw. This hell is also of six types due to differences like inequality etc. In this, people who cause separation of women and sons are cooked in a pan. Humans who separate two loved ones are also cut by the edge of the sword in the hell called Asimatra and some run away in fear of wolves.
Now look at this fourth hell called Argal. In this the sinners are running here and there shouting in various ways. This hell is also of six types with different types like killing etc. Now you see this fifth hell whose name is Kutashalmali. It has big thorns that hurt like embers. This hell is also of six types with different types like torture etc. People who commit adultery are thrown into this hell.
Now you see this sixth hell. In the hell called Ulvan, sinners are hanged with their heads down. Those who do not think about Bhaksya-Bhakshya and criticize and gossip about others are thrown into this hell. This hell is also of six types depending on the smell.
This is the seventh hell whose name is Kumbhipak. This is very terrible and it is also of six types. In this Mahapataki humans are cooked, in this hell they have to suffer torture for thousands of years, this is Raurava hell. The sins which are committed without desire are called dry and the sins which are committed willingly are called wet. Thus, these sins are of two types: dry and wet. Apart from this, there are eighty-four different types of sins. 1) Apakreena, 2) Padakateya, 3) Malinikarna, 4) Jaatibhramshakarna, 5) Upaya, 6) Atipaap, 7) Mahapaap - these are seven types of sins. One who does the sinful deeds are cooked in these seven hells according to his sinful deeds. Since you had the association with the devotees of the Lord who observed Kartik fast and because of the increase in your virtue, all these hells have definitely been destroyed for you.
In this way, after making Dhaneshwar see the hells, the ghost king took him to Yakshalok. Went there and made him the king of that place. He became famous by the name of 'Dhanakshay', a Kubera's follower. Later Maharishi Vishwamitra built a shrine in his name.
Fasting in the month of Kartik gives great results, there is no other virtuous deed equal to it. Whoever observes this fast and sees the person observing the fast attains salvation.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 31
Kartik Month Story Chapter 31, Kartik Month Story Chapter 31 in English
Lord Shri Krishna said - In ancient times, a Brahmin named Dhaneshwar lived in Avantipuri (Ujjain). He used to trade in juice, leather and blankets etc. He used to indulge in bad deeds like prostitution and drinking etc. Since he was busy in sin day and night, he used to roam from city to city doing business. One day, while roaming around in the business of buying and selling, he reached Mahishmatipuri which was established by King Mahish. The sin destroyer Narmada always graces there. Many people observing Kartik fast had come from many villages to take bath on the banks of that river. Dhaneshwar saw them all and he also stayed there for a month selling his goods.
He used to roam around on the banks of river Narmada selling his goods, seeing Brahmins engaged in bathing, chanting and worshiping and hearing the chanting of the names of Lord Vishnu from the mouth of Vaishnavas. He stayed there, touching them and talking to them. He also kept watching the Udyapan ritual and Jagran of Kartik fast. He also observed the fast on the full moon day that the devotees were feeding the brahmins and cows and also giving them dakshina etc. He also saw the lamp garland being lit daily to please Lord Shankar.
Lord Shiva had burnt all the three cities of the demon named Tripura on this date, hence the devotees of Lord Shiva celebrate the festival of lights on this date. The person who differentiates between me and Lord Shiva, all his activities become futile. In this way, when one month had passed while living on the banks of Narmada, one day suddenly he was bitten by a black snake. Dejected by this, he fell on the ground. Seeing his condition, the kind devotees there surrounded him from all sides and started sprinkling water mixed with basil leaves on his face. When he was about to die, the messengers of Yama came, tied him up, whipped him and took him to Yampuri.
Seeing him, Chitragupta said to Yamraj - From childhood till today, he has done only bad deeds and not even a trace of virtue is visible in his life. Even if I keep narrating to you for a whole year, the list of its sins will not end. He is a great sinner, hence he should be put in severe hell for one Kalpa. Hearing Chitragupta's words, Yamraj got angry and showed his fierce form like Kalnemi and ordered his followers and said - O ghost generals! Beat this wicked man with his fists and put him in Kumbhipaka hell.
The commanders broke his head with crowbars, took him to Kumbhipak hell and put him in a cauldron of boiling oil. As soon as the ghost commanders put him in the pan of oil, the pot there became cool, just like in the past, the fire lit by the demons had cooled down when Prahladji was put in it. Seeing this strange incident, the ghost went to Commander Yamraj and told him the whole story.
Hearing the whole thing, Yamraj was also surprised and started inquiring about this matter. At the same time Naradji came there and said to Yamraj – Suryanandan! This Brahmin is not worthy of consuming hell. The person who sees, touches and talks with people who perform virtuous deeds acquires one-sixth of their virtue. This Dhaneshwar has been in contact with innumerable people who were observing the Kartik fast of Shri Hari for a month. Therefore, he has become a partaker of the virtues of all of them. He has attained virtue unwillingly.
Therefore, he remains in the womb of Yaksha and becomes free from Yama's torture just by seeing all the hells as an offering for his sins.
Lord Shri Krishna said- Satyabhama! After saying this to Naradji and leaving, Yamraj, considering Dhaneshwar to be a virtuous soul, ordered the messengers to show him hell.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 29
Kartik Month Story Chapter 29, Kartik Month Story Chapter 29 in English
King Prithu said - O best of sages! You told me the story of Kalaha attaining salvation, to which I listened attentively. Hey Naradji! This work was done due to the influence of those two rivers, please tell me this.
Narad ji said - O king! River Krishna is the body of Lord Shri Krishna Maharaj and the river named Veni is the body of Lord Shankar. Even Shri Brahmaji is not capable of describing the greatness of the confluence of these two rivers, yet since you have asked, I will tell you the story of their origin. Listen carefully.
At the beginning of Chakshasu Manvantar, Brahmaji decided to perform a yagya on the peak of Sahya mountain. He along with Lord Vishnu, Lord Shankar and all the gods went to the peak of that mountain carrying the yagya material. Sages like Maharishi Bhrigu etc. thought of giving initiation to him in Brahmamuhurta. After that Lord Vishnu called Brahmaji's wife Twara. She was coming very slowly. Meanwhile, Bhrigu ji asked Lord Vishnu - O Lord! You called Twara quickly, why didn't she come? Brahmamuhurta will pass.
On this, Lord Vishnu said - If Twara does not come here on time, then consider Gayatri as a woman and perform the initiation ceremony. Can't Gayatri be Brahmaji's wife in virtuous deeds?
Naradji said - Oh King! Lord Shankar also supported this statement of Lord Vishnu. Hearing this, Bhriguji started the initiation ceremony by making Gayatri sit on the right side of Brahmaji. At the time when the sages present started giving initiation to Gayatri, at the same time Twara also reached the Yagya Mandal.
Seeing Gayatri sitting on the right side of Lord Brahma, she became angry with jealousy and said - Where the unworshipped are worshiped and the worshiped are disrespected, there is bound to be famine, death and fear. This Gayatri has been seated in my place on the right side of Brahmaji, hence it will be an invisible flowing river. All you gods have placed him in my place without thinking, hence all of you will be inanimate rivers.
Naradji said to King Prithu - O king! Thus, after hearing the curse of Tvara, Gayatri became furious with anger and started biting her lips. Despite the refusal of the gods, she got up and cursed Tvara.
Gayatri said – Quickly! Just as Brahmaji is your husband, similarly he is my husband too. You have cursed in vain, so you too become a river, then there was panic among the gods.
All the gods prostrated themselves before Tvara and said - O Goddess! The curse you have given to all the gods like Brahma is not right because if we all become inanimate rivers then definitely these three worlds will not be able to survive. Since you have given this curse without thinking, you should take it back.
Twara said - O gods! This disturbance has arisen because you did not worship Ganesha at the beginning of the Yagya. This curse of mine can never go in vain, hence all of you will definitely become rivers by becoming rooted with your body parts. Both of us, our step-mothers, will also become rivers flowing in the west in our respective lineages.
Naradji said to King Prithu - O king! Hearing these words of Tvara, all the gods like Lord Vishnu, Shankar etc. became rivers from their respective parts. Rivers named Krishna were born from the part of Lord Vishnu, Veni from the part of Lord Shankar and Kakudamvati from the part of Brahmaji. All the gods turned their parts into inanimate objects and threw them there on Sahya mountain. Then the parts of those people started flowing in the form of separate rivers. Thousands of rivers flowing towards the west were born from the particles of the gods. Gayatri and Tvara, both west flowing rivers, started flowing together, both of them were named Savitri.
Brahmaji established Lord Vishnu and Lord Shankar at the yagya place. Both the gods became famous by the name of Mahabal and Atibal. Hey king! Whoever hears or narrates this description of the origin of Krishna and Veni rivers will get the benefit of seeing and bathing in the rivers.

Dharamdutt asked- I have heard that Jai and Vijay are also the gatekeepers of Lord Vishnu. What good deeds had they done in their previous birth due to which they assumed the form of God and became the gatekeepers of Vaikuntha Dham?
Both the councilors said- Brahmin! In ancient times, due to the vision of Maharishi Kardam, two sons were born from the womb of Trinavindu's daughter Devahuti. The elder of them was named Jai and the younger was named Vijay. Later, from the womb of the same Devahuti, Lord Kapil, who knew Yogadharma, was born. Jai and Vijay were always ready to worship God. He used to chant Ashtakshar Mantra daily and observe Vaishnav vows. Once King Marutta invited both of them to his yagya. There Jai Brahma and Vijay Acharya were created. He completed the entire ritual of Yagya. At the end of the Yagya, after Avabhruthasthan, King Marutta gave a lot of money to both of them.
Both the brothers took the money and went to their ashram. While dividing the money there, there was a quarrel between the two. Jai said- This money should be divided equally. Vijay said - No, whatever he has got should remain with him. Then Jay got angry and cursed the greedy Vijay - You do not give after receiving, hence become a crocodile.
Hearing Jai's curse, Vijay also cursed - You have cursed due to intoxication, hence you go into the womb of Matang i.e. elephant. After that he prayed to God to remove the curse. Shri Bhagwan said- You are my devotee, your word will never be untrue. Both of you will reach my abode again after suffering these curses given by yourself.
Saying this, Lord Vishnu disappeared. Thereafter both of them became Graha and Gaj on the banks of river Gand. Even in that life, he remembered his previous birth and remained ready to fast for Lord Vishnu. Sometime when Gajraj went to river Gand to take a bath in the month of Kartik, Graha, remembering the reason behind the curse, caught hold of the gajraj.
When Gajraj was caught by Graha, he remembered Lord Ramanath, then Lord Vishnu appeared there wearing conch, chakra and mace, he saved Gajraj and Graha by using his chakra and gave them a form similar to his own and took them to Vaikuntha Dham, since then that place has been there. It is famous by the name of Harikshetra. They are the two world famous Jai and Vijay who were the gatekeepers of Lord Vishnu.
Dharmadutt! You too should give up jealousy and hatred and always remain steadfast in the fast of Lord Vishnu, be equanimous, always take bath in the morning in the months of Kartik, Magh and Vaishakh. Remain steadfast in observing Ekadashi fast. Keep protecting Tulsi's garden. By doing this you will also attain the supreme status of Lord Vishnu after the end of your body. Neither yagya nor charity nor pilgrimage is greater than this fast of yours that satisfies Lord Vishnu. Vipravara! Blessed are you, this woman is being taken by us to Vaikuntha Dham after getting the fruit of half of her fast.
Narad ji said- Oh king! After giving such advice to Dharamdutt, both the flying councilors went to Vaikunthadham along with that Kalaha. Dharamdutt remained steadfast in his vow to God throughout his life and after his death, he along with his two wives attained Vaikuntha Dham. One who listens and narrates this ancient history, by the grace of Lord Jagadguru, attains the best path which leads to his association.

The councilors said - Once upon a time, Vishnudas prepared food after doing his daily routine but someone secretly stole it. Vishnudas saw that there was no food but he did not prepare food again because doing so would not give him time for evening puja. Hence, there was a fear of breaking the daily rules. Next day again at the same time, after preparing food, as soon as he went to offer it to Lord Vishnu, someone came and again grabbed all the food.
In this way, someone kept stealing their food for seven days continuously. Vishnudas was very surprised by this and he started thinking in his mind like this - Oh! Who comes every day and steals my kitchen? If I prepare food in the kitchen again, I miss the evening puja. If it is appropriate to have food immediately after cooking, then I would not do it because no Vaishnav eats food without offering everything to Lord Vishnu. Today it has been seven days since I fasted. How long can I remain steadfast in this fast? Good! Today I will protect the kitchen well.
Having decided this, after preparing food, he stood hiding somewhere there. Meanwhile, he saw a Chandal who was ready to leave after eating food from the kitchen. His whole body had become weak due to hunger and his face was full of sadness. There was nothing left in the body except bones and skin. Seeing him, the heart of the best Brahmin Vishnudas was filled with compassion. He looked at the Chandal who had stolen the food and said – Brother! Just wait, wait! Why do you eat dry food? Take this ghee.
Saying thus, seeing Vipravar Vishnudas coming, Vaj Chandal ran away with great speed in fear and fell unconscious at a short distance. Seeing Chandal frightened and unconscious, Vishnu Das, the best among the warriors, came near him with great speed and out of pity started fanning him with the end of his clothes. Thereafter, when he stood up, Vishnudas saw that there were no Chandalas there but Narayana himself was present in front of him holding conch, disc and mace. Seeing his Lord in person, Vishnudas became subjugated by satvik feelings. When he was not able to even praise and salute, then God hugged his devotee Vishnudas, who was observing Satvik fast, and gave him a form like his own and took him to Vaikuntha Dham.
At that time, King Chola, who had been initiated into the Yagya, saw that Vishnudas was going near Lord Vishnu sitting on a great plane. Seeing Vishnudas going to Vaikunthadham, the king immediately called his Guru Maharishi Mudgal and started saying thus - That Brahmin with whom I have competed and performed the rituals of Yagya, charity etc., has today assumed the form of Lord Vishnu before me. Going to Vaikunthadham. After being well initiated in this Vaishnavadham, I performed havan in the fire and fulfilled the wishes of the Brahmins through donations etc. However till now Lord Vishnu was not pleased with me and Sri Hari directly came in front of Vishnudas only because of his devotion. Hence, it seems that Lord Vishnu is not pleased only with donations and yagyas. Devotion is the main reason for getting darshan of that Lord.
Both the councilors said- Saying this, the king anointed his nephew on the throne. He had been engaged in Yagya since childhood, taking initiation from it, hence he did not have any son. This is the reason why in that country till now nephews are the heirs of the state. After giving the kingdom to his nephew, the king went to the sacrificial fire and standing in front of the sacrificial fire addressed Lord Vishnu and said the following words in a loud voice three times - Lord Vishnu! Please grant me unwavering devotion through mind, speech, body and actions.
Saying this, he jumped into the fire in front of everyone. Just at that very moment the devoted Lord Vishnu appeared in the fire pit. He hugged the king to his chest and made him sit in a superior plane and took him with him and left for Vaikuntha Dham.
Narad ji said- Oh king! The one who was Vishnudas was the advisor of God famous by the name Punyasheel and the one who was King Chola was named Sushil. Lord Lakshmipati made both of them his gatekeepers by giving them a form similar to his own.

Narad ji said - Thus, after listening to the words of Vishnu's councilors, Dharmadutt said - Almost all human beings worship Shri Vishnu, who removes the sufferings of the devotees, in a proper manner through yagya, charity, fasting, pilgrimage and penance. Among all those means, which is the one which increases the happiness of Lord Vishnu and helps in attaining his closeness?
Both the councilors started telling the story of their previous birth – O best of the two! Your question is very excellent. Today we will tell you the solution to please Lord Vishnu quickly. We tell ancient stories including history, listen carefully.
Brahmin! First, there was a Chakravarti king named Chola in Kanchipuri. In his name, all the countries living under him became known as Chola. When King Chola ruled this world, there was not a single person in his kingdom who was poor, sad, indulged in sin or sick.
Once upon a time, King Chola went to a pilgrimage site called Anantashayan where Jagadishwar Lord Vishnu had taken the shelter of Yoga Nidra and slept. There the king ritually worshiped the divine idol of Lord Vishnu. After worshiping with divine gem, Muktaphal and beautiful flowers made of gold, he prostrated himself.
As soon as he sat down after paying obeisance, his eyes fell on a Brahmin coming near the Lord, who was a resident of his own town, Kanchi. His name was Vishnudas.
He was carrying Tulsi plant and water in his hand to worship the Lord. On coming near, those Brahmins bathed Lord Devadhidev while reciting Vishnusukta and worshiped him duly with Tulsi Manjari and leaves. The earlier worship of God with gems by King Chola was covered by Tulsi worship.
Seeing this the king got angry and said – Vishnudas! The worship I had done to God with gems and gold was looking so beautiful, you covered it by offering basil leaves. Tell me, why did you do this? It seems to me that you are poor and rude. Do not know the devotion of Lord Vishnu at all.
Hearing this from the king, Vishnudas, the best among the kings, said - King! You don't know anything about devotion, you are proud only because of Rajalakshmi. Tell me, how many Vaishnav fasts have you observed before today?
Then Nripashrestha Chola laughingly said – You are poor and penniless, how much devotion do you have towards Lord Vishnu? You have not performed any yagya or charity etc. to satisfy Lord Vishnu, nor have you ever built any temple before. Despite this you are so proud of your devotion. Well then all these Brahmins should listen to me. Do I see Lord Vishnu first or this Brahmin? If all of you see this, then everyone will automatically know which one of us has the kind of devotion. Saying this the king went to his palace.
There he started Vaishnav Yagya by appointing Maharishi Mudgal as Acharya. On the other hand, Vishnudas, who always followed the scriptures to please Lord Vishnu, also observed the fast and stayed in the temple of Lord Vishnu.
He followed the rituals of Uttam Vrat of Magh and Kartik, protection of Tulsivan, chanting of Dwadshakshar Mantra on Ekadashi, auspicious events like dance, song etc. along with worshiping Lord Vishnu with Shodashopachar daily etc.
Every day, while walking, roaming and sleeping, he used to remember Lord Vishnu all the time. His vision had become even everywhere. They saw only Lord Vishnu present within all living beings. Thus both King Chola and Vishnudas were engaged in the worship of Lord Lakshmipati. Both of them were engaged in their respective fasts and both of them had dedicated their entire senses and all their actions to Lord Vishnu. Both of them spent a long time in this state.

(Listen to Dharamdutt ji's statement and further description of the twenty-fourth story).
By doing good deeds like charity and fasting in a pilgrimage, a person's sins are destroyed, but you are in the body of a ghost, hence you do not have the right to do those deeds. Therefore, I give you half of the virtue of the Kartik fast that I have observed since my birth till now, so that you can attain salvation through that.
Saying this, as soon as Dharamdutt anointed her with water mixed with Tulsi while making her listen to the Dwadashakshar Mantra, she was freed from the ghostly form and became a goddess with a radiant and divine form like a burning flame of fire and started to resemble Goddess Lakshmi in beauty.
Thereafter, she fell on the ground like a stick and bowed to the Brahmin deity and said in a joyful voice - O best of the two! Today I got freed from this hell with your blessings. I was drowning in the sea of sin and you became like a boat for me.
She was thus telling the Brahmin that a divine plane was seen descending from the sky. It was very bright and had councilors of Sri Hari Vishnu. Punyasheel and Sushil, who were standing at the door of the aircraft, picked up the goddess and boarded her on the best aircraft, then Dharmadutt looked at that aircraft with great surprise and after seeing the councilors in the form of Vishnu, he prostrated himself.
Punyasheel and Sushil picked up the Brahmin who saluted them and praised him and said - O best of the Dwijas! Thank you, because you are always ready to worship Lord Vishnu, have mercy on the poor, are omniscient and observe the fast of Lord Vishnu. By donating half of the Kartik fast that you have been observing since childhood, you have received double the virtue and the sins of hundreds of births have been destroyed. Now She is being taken to Vaikunthdham. At the end of this birth, you too will go to Lord Vishnu's Vaikuntha Dham along with your two wives and attain liberation.
Dharmadutt! Those who have worshiped Lord Vishnu with devotion like you are blessed and grateful. Only their birth in this world is successful. What does Lord Vishnu not give to embodied beings when worshiped properly? It was he who had installed Uttanpad's son on Dhruvpad in earlier times.
By merely remembering their names all living beings attain salvation. In earlier times, Gajraj, who was suffering from depression, was freed by remembering their names. Neither Yagya, nor charity, nor pilgrimage is greater than the Kartik fast that you have performed since birth to satisfy Lord Vishnu. Vipravara! You are blessed because you have observed Kartik fast to please Jagadguru Lord Vishnu, after getting half of which this woman is going to God's world with us.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 24
Kartik Month Story Chapter 24, Kartik Month Story Chapter 24 in English
King Prithu said – Oh great sage! You talked about Tulsi's history, fast and greatness. Now please tell me whether other gods are worshiped in the month of Kartik? Explain this also in detail.
Narad ji said – It was a matter of past times. A famous religious Brahmin named Dharamdutt lived in Karvikar on Sahya mountain. One day in the month of Kartik, he went towards Lord Vishnu's temple to perform Jagran near Lord Vishnu. At that time there was still one quarter of the night left. While carrying the material for worshiping God, the Brahmin saw on the way that a fierce demon was coming.
His body was naked and without flesh. The Brahmins trembled with fear after seeing his big teeth, lashing tongue and red eyes. His whole body started trembling. He mustered courage and attacked the demon with the puja material and water.
Remembering Harinam, he hit him with water mixed with basil leaves, hence his entire legacy was destroyed. Now he remembered the plight he had faced as a result of the deeds of his previous birth.
He bowed to the Brahmin and said thus - Brahmin! I have reached this condition as a result of the deeds of my previous birth. Now how do I get the best way forward?
Seeing her bowing like this, Dharamdutt was surprised and asked - As a result of which action have you reached this state? Where are you from? What is your name and how is your conduct? Tell me all these things.
The name of that demon was Kalha, Kalha said – Brahmin! It is about my previous birth, there lived a Brahmin named Bhikshu in Saurashtra city, I was his wife. My name was Kalaha and I was a woman of very cruel nature.
I never did any good to my husband even with words, never served him sweet food. She always kept cheating her master. I was particularly fond of discord, that is why my husband was always upset with me. Ultimately he decided to marry another woman, then I sacrificed my life by consuming poison, then the messengers of Yamraj came and tied me and beat me and took me to Yamalok.
There Yamraj saw me and asked Chitragupta - Chitragupta! Look, what kind of work has she done? According to her karma, she may get auspicious or inauspicious.
Chitragupta said- There is no auspicious deed done by her. She herself used to eat sweets and did not give anything to her master. SHe has always hated her master, hence she must live in the form of a bat and she always had a tendency towards discord, hence she live in the womb of a Sukari that eats feces.
She always used to eat alone in the vessel in which food was prepared. Therefore, due to her fault, it may be a cat taking care of its own offspring. She committed suicide by using her husband as an instrument, hence this highly condemnable woman remaine alone for some time even in the body of a ghost. She should be sent by the Yamdoots to a waterless region, where She should reside in the body of a ghost for a long time. After that this sinner will also go into the remaining three Yonis or the births.
Kalha said- Vipravara! I am the same sinner. Five hundred years have passed since I came into this ghost body. I always suffer from hunger and thirst. Entering the body of a merchant, I have come to this southern country till the confluence of Krishna and Veni.
As soon as I reached the banks of Sangam, the councilors of Lord Shiva and Vishnu forcefully chased me away from the body of Baniya, since then I have been wandering here and there suffering from hunger. Just then my eyes fell on you.
All my sins have been destroyed by the contact of water mixed with Tulsi from your hands. Dwijshreshtha! Now you yourself find some solution. Tell me, how will I be freed from this body of mine and from the three dreadful births that will happen in the future?
Hearing these words of Kalaha, Dharmadatta became very sad seeing her past deeds and present condition, then after much thought he said... (The story of Dharmadatta ji's statement has been described in the twenty-fifth chapter)
Kartik Month Story Chapter 23
Kartik Month Story Chapter 23, Kartik Month Story Chapter 23 in English
Narad ji said - O king! This is the reason why Lord Vishnu is worshiped in the root of Tulsi during the fast Udyapan of Kartik month. Tulsi is considered to provide more love to Lord Vishnu.
Rajan! In the house where there is Tulsivan, then that house is a place of pilgrimage, there the messengers of Yamraj do not come. Tulsi plant is always the destroyer of all sins and the granter of desired wishes. Those great people who plant Tulsi plant do not see Yamraj. View of Narmada, bathing in Ganga and contact with Tulsi plant - all three are said to be the same. Yamraj cannot look at the person who sacrifices his life after uniting himself with the manjari of Tulsi, even if he is guilty of hundreds of sins. By touching Tulsi, all sins like sexual, verbal, mental etc. are destroyed.
People who worship God with Tulsi Dal do not come into the womb again, that is, they are freed from the cycle of birth and death. All the places of pilgrimage like Pushkar, rivers like Ganga and all the gods like Vishnu reside in Tulsi Dal.
Hey king! People who apply sandalwood on Tulsi wood easily attain salvation and the sins committed by them do not even touch their body. Wherever there is shade of Tulsi plant, Shraddha should be performed for the satisfaction of the ancestors. Even Yamraj cannot look upon the one on whose mouth, ears and forehead a Tulsi leaf is visible, leave alone the messengers. One who listens to the glory of Tulsi with respect every day, becomes free from all sins and goes to Brahmalok.
Similarly, the great Amla tree is the destroyer of all sins. Amla tree is dear to Lord Vishnu. It is only by remembering this that man attains the fruits of Godan i.e cow donation. The person who worships Lord Vishnu in the Amla forest during Kartik and eats food under the shade of Amla tree, his sins are also destroyed. Whatever good a person does under the shade of Amla tree becomes multimillionfold. The person who gives food to a Brahmin couple even once in Kartik under the shade of Amla tree and then feeds himself becomes free from Anna Dosha. A person who wishes to attain Lakshmi should always take bath with Amla. One should not take bath with Amla on Navami, Amavasya, Saptami, Sankranti, Sunday, lunar eclipse and solar eclipse.
The person who offers Pind Daan sitting under the shade of Amla tree, his ancestors attain salvation through the offerings of Lord Vishnu. The person who takes bath by mixing Amla fruit and Tulsi leaves in water gets the results of bathing in Ganga. The person who worships the gods with Amla leaves and fruits gets the fruits of worship through gold gems and pearls. In the month of Kartik, when the Sun is in Libra, all the pilgrims, sages, gods and all the yagyas reside in the Amla tree. The person who eats food sitting under the shade of Amla tree on Dwadashi Tithi during Tulsi Dal and Kartik, his sins arising from food contamination for one year are destroyed.
The person who worships Lord Vishnu in the root of Amla in Kartik gets the results of worshiping Shri Vishnu Kshetras. Even Shri Brahma ji is not able to describe the importance of Amla and Tulsi, hence by listening to the birth story of Dhatri and Tulsi ji, man gets devotion along with his lineage.
Kartik Month Story Chapter 22
Kartik Month Story Chapter 22, Kartik Month Story Chapter 22 in English
King Prithu asked Narad ji – O Devarshi! Now please tell me what did Lord Vishnu do after captivating Vrinda and then where did he go?
When the gods became silent after praising, then Shankar ji said to all the gods – O Brahmadic gods! Jalandhar was a part of me. I did not kill him for you, it was my worldly play, yet you guys tell the truth whether it made you happy or not?
Then the eyes of the Brahmadic Gods blossomed with joy and they bowed to Lord Shiva and narrated all the stories of Vishnu that he had charmed Vrinda with great effort and that she had attained the supreme state by entering the fire. The gods also said that since then Vishnu, fascinated by the beauty of Vrinda, roamed here and there wrapped the ashes of her funeral pyre. Therefore, you explain to them because this entire pasture is under your control.
Hearing all this story from the gods, Shankar ji explained to them his illusion and said that even Vishnu, fascinated by it, has become under the control of lust. But Mahadevi Uma, the mother of the Trinity, is the original nature beyond all, the most beautiful and she is also called Girija. Therefore, to remove the attachment of Vishnu, all of you should take refuge in her. With the orders of Shankar ji, all the gods started pleasing the original nature. After reaching her place, they praised her greatly and then a voice came from the sky, O Gods! In three ways, I am the form of Gaura from Satya Guna, Lakshmi from Rajo Guna and Jyoti form from Tamo Guna, separated from all the three Gunas. Therefore, now if you people go to those goddesses for my protection, they will fulfill your wishes.
Hearing all this, the gods started paying respect to Bhagwati's words and started paying obeisance to Gauri, Lakshmi and Saraswati. All the gods prayed to those goddesses with devotion. With that praise all three goddesses appeared. All the gods were happy and requested, then those goddesses gave some seeds and said - take it and sow it and all your work will be accomplished. The Brahmadic gods took those seeds to Lord Vishnu. Thrown in Vrinda's funeral pyre. Dhatri, Malti and Tulsi appeared from them.
Dhatri appeared from Vidhatri's seed, Malti from Lakshmi's seed and Tulsi from Gauri's seed. As soon as Lord Vishnu saw those plants in female form, he sat up. Fascinated with lustful mind, he started pleading with them. Dhatri and Tulsi loved him. Lord Vishnu, forgetting all his sorrows, bowed to the gods and went to his world Vaikuntha. He became happy as before and started remembering Shankar ji. This famous story is going to give devotion to Lord Shiva.
